Weirding Way Media’s Rings of Power podcast launches its long-awaited second season before returning November 11 to cover Season Three of the Prime Video series DETROIT, Mich., and OMAHA, Neb. — Weirding Way Media’s The Podcast of Power returns for its long-awaited second season with an exclusive interview featuring Emmy Award-winning composer Bear McCreary, the musical architect behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Hosted by Mike White of The Projection Booth and Chris Stachiw of The Kulturecast, The Podcast of Power combines episode-by-episode analysis of the Prime Video series with spirited discussion of J. R. R. Tolkien’s legendarium, its many adaptations, and the ever-expanding world of Middle-earth.

The new season will revisit all eight episodes of The Rings of Power Season Two, examining Sauron’s return, the creation of the Rings, the fall of Eregion, Númenor’s political upheaval, and the gathering conflict that will reshape Middle-earth. Weekly episodes will lead directly into the podcast’s third season, premiering alongside The Rings of Power Season Three on November 11, 2026.

The season premiere features an in-depth conversation with McCreary, who has composed the series’ episodic score since its 2022 debut. His extensive credits also include Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, Outlander, and the God of War video-game franchise. McCreary discusses the challenge of establishing a new musical language within one of fantasy’s most culturally significant worlds. He also explores the distinctive themes he created for the characters, kingdoms, and cultures of the Second Age—and the musical connections hidden within them, including the deliberate octave leap shared by his themes for Galadriel, Númenor, and Eregion.

“Bear McCreary’s music doesn’t merely accompany The Rings of Power—it helps build its world,” said co-host Mike White. “His themes give the characters and kingdoms histories that we can feel before the story explains them. We couldn’t imagine a better way to return to Middle-earth or begin this new season of the podcast.” Season Two of The Podcast of Power will feature weekly episode breakdowns, listener mailbags, and interviews with members of the series’ cast and creative team. The season will carry listeners through the events of the show’s second year while preparing them for the substantially changed Middle-earth awaiting them in Season Three. Prime Video has announced that The Rings of Power Season Three will premiere November 11 with its first four episodes. Episodes five and six will follow November 18, with the final two episodes arriving November 25.

Set several years after Season Two, the new season will move into the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron as the Dark Lord seeks to consolidate his power and forge the One Ring. A fourth season is currently in development, although Prime Video has not formally announced its renewal.

By the time the new episodes begin, our listeners will be ready for whatever Sauron has planned.”
