Entertainment Power Couple Brian Newman and Angie Pontani Join Forces as Co-Hosts of ‘Showing Off'

Dateline: BROOKLYN, N.Y., July 28, 2026 – Married couple Brian Newman (Grammy-winning producer, bandleader, trumpeter, and vocalist) and Angie Pontani (burlesque performer, podcaster, and co-founder of The World Famous Pontani Sisters dance troupe) are proud to announce their latest collaborative project as co-hosts and producers of Showing Off with Brian Newman & Angie Pontani. Behind every velvet stage curtain is an orchestra of artists, community leaders, and cultural trailblazers… and Brian and Angie are here to show them off to their viewers and listeners.

Showing Off shines the spotlight on the innovators and icons that keep our passions alive. Each episode features a candid, heartfelt, and occasionally off-the-rails discussion with the musicians, restaurateurs, activists, authors, and personalities who are shaping their neighborhoods and the world around them. With an old-school “Late Night” feel and a fun game for every guest, Brian and Angie are here to share their guests’ stories–as well as a few of their own. This podcast is your backstage pass to the world of entertainment, the movers and shakers culture, and so much more. Guests include drag king Murray Hill, fashion designer Nanette Lepore, and comedian Jon Glaser.

“This is the show where we peel back the curtain and get into the scene behind the scenes in the arts, culture, entertainment, our community, and so much more,” says Newman.

Showing Off is an expansion of Newman and Pontani’s creative partnership. Together, they have brought their live show After Dark to theaters across the United States such as the NoMad Library in Las Vegas, Nevada and The Box in New York City. On Showing Off, fans get a peek behind the curtain into life as performers and parents, from sharing the stage with Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett to raising their daughter in their Brooklyn home. With heaps of personality and an Italian-American sensibility, Newman and Pontani have created a show that brings their own style to the world of podcasting.

Along with Newman and Pontani, Showing Off is produced by Josh Wilcox (The Human Experience, owner and operator of Brooklyn Podcasting Studio), Scott Frederick (BASE Creatives) and Ellis Frederick (BASE Creatives).

About Brian Newman

Brian Newman is a Grammy Award-winning producer, trumpeter, musical director, and bandleader. In June, he released Songs for Lonely Lovers, his first full-length record in six years. Drawing from the Great American Songbook, Songs for Lonely Lovers is Newman’s love letter to the heartbreaks and yearning so often found in jazz. He is also a longtime collaborator of Lady Gaga, most recently as a producer and composer on her album Harlequin. He was also the bandleader of her Jazz & Pop residency.

One of the top burlesque performers today, Angie Pontani dazzles on stages around the world. Her performances, choreography, and curation skills are frequently sought by clients such as Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Esquire Magazine, and the 2025 Broadway revival of Gypsy. She co-founded The World Famous Pontani Sisters, a pioneering neo-burlesque troupe that was featured on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Gossip Girl.
